  1. whoa! That sider bowl is all time Salmon that you’re on – wow! 4259 going air drop at the end best maneuver I think. Kevlar, going fast as always. Sick9

  2. salmon now thats the ticket. man those pictures remind of the day i got it with you guys sometime long time back. i want some!

  3. Holy hell…that second salmon shot reminds me exactly of big days when I was living on the beach in ventura…I used to post “Demons sider is working!…ill catch you guys later”. That’s ALMOST EXACTLY what it looked like..all to myself and roommate who was learning. Not too many people skim the petty breaks around there. Huge outside, reform onto the rocks and a perfect waist to shoulder connection. Thanks for posting those…brought back some great memories.

    5er

  4. Funny 5er i was thinkin the same thing about montara when it would do what i call the double up liner white wash style shoulder head high and just rolling along. Lot of the boys around here know what iam talking about. Salmon and montara got so much in common when i skim salmon last i pratically felt like i was at home.

  5. Oh man…it makes it even better because those days look like they’d be a waste of time at a glance. But if you wait around for a couple sets you can see some magical reforms and siders. I’m goofy and a lot of the times I was pretty buzzed because I was boozing too much in those days…but if I could get that frontside turn off the sider and straighten out I was in heaven…you get that racing thought process…like “what should I try?” I could never get Gravy to the dif the local beaches where we lived…no matter my descriptions or pics. He’d only want to go south of Mugu. But even in oxnard shores by his pad on huge days…id surf the morning and sponge and skim the reforms after the tide filled in. They would go through a deep water section, reform and unload onto the sand. We had some fun days there…and a lot of injuries lol. I know you guys have a lot of similar breaks up there. I’m gonna try and get up there (before the swells are gone). My pops lives up there but I rarely skim if I go…Pot knows. But I’d love to meet up with some of you guys again and get some footage and hurt myself =)…have a busted collar bone again but ill heal up quick. If not maybe you guys could come down and have a little ventura reunion fest…even far away a lot of you guys have been part of the vta crew…even if its only occasionally.

  6. Glad you guys can relate and appreciate days like this! They are seriously some of my favorite days skimming ever. Most skimmers would wouldn’t even skim it if they checked it because for the most part it looks like a crappy troughy reform break, but if they actually got in and skimmed it they wouldn’t regret it. Then there’s those days at Wright’s and Portuguese that look like your epic alltime skim setup, but then you get down there and can’t make anything because it’s completely dead water or something like that.
